The film follows three friends (Brown, Zaso, and Reissig) as they travel to the Black Forest of Germany. While there, the trio is attacked by a family of deformed mountain people who murder and cannibalize anyone who ventures into their secluded territory.[3]
The storyline is similar to that of H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Lurking Fear", as well as the films Wrong Turn and The Hills Have Eyes.[5]
